How can a foreigner own property at Laan Dara?
Under Thai law, foreigners can buy leases and buildings, but not land. There are many ways to structure this so that the buyer has security of ownership. For instance, leases can be registered for up to 30 years with renewal options, or there is the perpetual lease programme being offered by Thailand Longstay. Is Thailand becoming less friendly to foreign investors?
No. Thailand has traditionally been one of the most open and friendly markets for foreign investment in Asia, and this has not changed. There is no intention to discourage foreign investors.

Who is the development team?
Laan Dara is being developed by Laan Dara Estate Venture Ltd, a single-project company set up by a group of experienced property developers and investors from Thailand, Hong Kong the UK and the USA. The principals have global experience in property development and investment, including over 25 years’ experience in Thailand alone in key destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya.
The design team is headed by the world-renowned architectural firm of the Beaumont Partnership (formerly Woods Bagot) and backed by experienced civil & structural and M&E engineering teams and contractors.
The team now has built up a track record of 36 months of successfully working together and conceptualizing, structuring and designing a world class project that is on time and on budget.

Is Laan Dara in a convenient location?
Laan Dara offers a quiet, secluded and natural hillside lifestyle with breathtaking views over Chaweng Bay, and is nevertheless a mere 5 minute "hop, skip and jump" from the bustling hotels, restaurants and bars on Chaweng and Lamai Beaches, 15 minutes from Samui International Airport, 7 minutes to the shopping district anchored by Tesco and Makro and 2 minutes to the renowned medical care of Bangkok-Samui International Hospital.
Koh Samui is connected to the mainland by frequent ferries and numerous airlines, and is around an hour by plane from Bangkok and Phuket. There are also direct flight connections to Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and other regional destinations.
